So what is the “Japan Style” exactly?
Traditional mental skills training comes from a Western perspective and focuses on image training to improve skills. In Japan Style Mr. Iiyama also prepares the “mind” to follow the ancient Japanese spiritual way of Zen, and look to change the way the “mind” is. By including this element into the mental skills training the effect of the training will be maximized. This training also incorporates modern brain science and he looks at the link between consciously taken action, which part of the brain is stimulated by this action, how the brain is effected, and how the brain responds. Once these processes are understood you will know how to use the power of your brain more effectively.
To give an example, in image training we normally just imitate the action or process in our mind without any deep understanding of how the image training is actually effecting our brain. However, once you clearly understand why the fundamental mechanism of repeating an image can lead to desired results, you will be able to promote the desired the behavioral change and achieve the desired effect sooner.

Jiro Iiyama
Mr. Iiyama believes that we have the power to shape our own dreams. He is very active in fields of sports, academia, and business. He holds multiple coaching qualifications, and is a JADA Certified SBT Master Coach. He has given leadership seminars to corporate executives, mental skills coaching to a champion high school baseball team, and has helped athletes win medals at the national and international level. Most recently he provided support to a Gold Medalist at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics and prior to that a Bronze Medalist at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
